Having 73 million Turks would unbalance and already weakened E.U. No one in the E.U. is going to let that happen.
I think a better case would be Russia.
She might not like the idea, but to compete against China and the United States economically and influence-States of the world will have to united.
2 ways: The EU decides that it forces the European free nations together into a new soviet union and needs to start oppressing its citizens, becouse a nation with 500 million people with 40 different languages cannot work, or it stays like a weird big brother which can't even sort out it's messes, becouse all the bigger nations do not want to work together. And then in few years or more than ten years, it starts to collapse.
Of course, i might be wrong and see only the bad sides of it and i have a non-liberal and nationalistic view on the world.
